City Oasis - San Francisco, CAA family with young children wanted to create an oasis of calm in the city. Looking for creative solutions to maximize the space they asked us for a design for play, entertaining and planting between their house and cottage. The height difference between the buildings created a challenging opportunity to utilize the terraced spaces. Off the playroom broad steps lead up to a lawn. A large deck for entertaining off the cottage overlooks the garden. The owner built most of the elements during a series of weekends, including the metal stepped planters.
