Maaloy waterfront plaza - Maaloy, NorwayThe central waterfront area in the town of Maaloy was a series of unattractive intersections when the town held a competition to design a new plaza and waterfront, and this design was the winner of the competition. The cobblestone "carpet" welcomes cruise ship passengers as they disembark into the town, and the waterfront becomes a flexible framework supporting activities such as theatre, markets and outdoor cafes.
