No Fuss Landscape

An edgy, modern house on a hilly site needed usable outdoor spaces and a matching landscape. As avid swimmers, the clients had a lap pool at the top of their wish list. We placed the pool along the contour lines of the hillside, on a slight angle to the house.

A deck was extended from the house to overlook the pool. The site was carefully terraced above the pool, with a small pool house we designed at the end of the pool. This also provided privacy to the pool and pool deck.

To match the simple, no fuss house, we created a no fuss landscape with native and drought tolerant grasses on the hillside.

Hardy succulents provide accent planting above the pool and prevent people from falling in.

Fruit trees and olives were added to the hillside, and a path was carefully placed to access the hillside and the fruit trees.
