Shades of Green Landscape Architecture

St. Ignatius College Preparatory

This project is a design of the new Northen campus for one of the oldest schools in San Francisco. The landscape scope includes a new front streetscape, including the new main entry to the school, a large multi-functional plaza with an integrated bioretention area and a meditative chapel garden on the western side, and a rooftop space equipped with seating options and planters which provides a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

The jewel of the project lies in the western part of the new campus. This area features a large integrated multi-functional bio-retention area, which acts as both a stormwater retention and filtering device, as well as a sunken seating area for students.

The rooftop garden features a striking ocean view, with ample seating and coastal-dune inspired planting.

The Chapel garden is a serene, meditative garden on the ground floor designed to offer faculty and students a quiet space to reflect. It can also be used as a small gathering space, or outdoor classroom.
